In January, 2010, Flagstaff, AZ had a heavy snowstorm. This storm was broken the record of snowfall for many years. Some buildings got the damage because of this storm too. One of the example was a bookstore’s roof collapsed destroying much of the store and it is merchandise. Bookmans bookstore has served as an iconic example of the unique relationship of local businesses with Flagstaff culture. While waiting rebuilding to complete the store’s staff remained active in the local community scene, volunteering and sponsoring events.

A Story About Grand Canyon Hostel
NAU Student Media Center photojournalist Lauren Damaskino profiles Flagstaff’s Grand Canyon Hostel. Grand Canyon Hostel is located in downtown Flagstaff and is a popular stop for visitors from around the world. Many guests at the hostel are staying there before or after a trip to the Grand Canyon.
